F.A.Q.
🧒 What is Super Write Sparks?
Super Write Sparks delivers live-streamed, interactive creative writing and poetry workshops directly into classrooms. We’re run by three former teachers with over 50 years of experience between us, including award-winning poet and Bloomsbury author Mark Grist..
📝 What do students do in the workshops?
Each workshop includes:
A high-energy poetry performance from published poet Mark Grist.
Short timed writing activities.
Live modelling of how to build a character together.
Independent writing time and opportunities for students to share their work.
The theme we will be focussing on for World Book Day 2026 is ‘Characters’
Which age groups are the workshops for?
We run sessions for:
Explorers (Ideal for KS1): Little Heroes: Big Adventures
Voyager (Ideal for KS2): Villain Verses
Creators Workshop (Ideal for KS3): The Secret Life of Stuff
Scholars (Ideal for KS4/5): How to Steal a Masterpiece
💷 How much does it cost?
Our pricing structure is designed to be flexible and school-friendly, allowing teachers to choose a bundle based on the number of classes they would like to include.
Each ticket provides one secure login for one class.
With that login, teachers can choose which workshop or poetry performance their class would like to join.
Schools can select from the following options:
Single Ticket – 1 class
Double Ticket – 2 classes
Triple Ticket – 3 classes
Hamper Ticket – 4–12 classes
Full Access Ticket – 13–30 classes
When purchasing multiple tickets, schools can spread logins across different key stages, with the freedom for each class to select the session that best suits them, whether that’s a workshop or a live poetry performance.
🎥 What platform are the sessions delivered on?
All sessions are delivered live via Zoom. You’ll receive a secure access link by email ahead of the event.
🔑 When do we get the access code for the performance?
All ticketholders will receive the access code for the live-streamed performance via email 48 hours before World Book Day. We recommend you check your spam folder, in case the link has found its way there.
👩🏫 Who leads the workshops?
All workshops are led by Mark Grist — an award-winning poet, published author (Bloomsbury), former English teacher, and performer with over 80 million views online.
Mark specialises in helping students build confidence in creative writing and has delivered thousands of workshops in schools around the world.
🌍 Can schools outside the UK take part?
Absolutely. Schools across the world are welcome to join. Just be sure to check the time difference — all workshops run on UK time (BST).
👩🎓 Can we use the workshop with multiple classes?
Each ticket is a unique link for one class group to access the live-stream. We know some schools may want to combine classes — we recommend keeping groups class-sized so everyone can write comfortably, join in, stay focused, and get the most from the session.
📹 Do we get a recording of the workshop?
Yes, you’ll receive a recording within 48 hours of the session. You're welcome to use it in your classroom for the rest of the term, whether to revisit the session or share it with other classes.
🧠 Are the sessions aligned with the curriculum?
Yes. All workshops are shaped by current literacy guidance, including the EEF’s recommendations and the UK English curriculum. They support vocabulary development, figurative language, spoken fluency and creative confidence.
🎫 Where do we buy tickets?
All tickets are sold directly through our website. Schools can choose the ticket bundle that best fits the number of classes taking part and complete their booking online.
Once booked, login details and access information will be sent by email.
Visit www.superwritesparks.com to book.
🗂️ Do we need to plan anything in advance?
No formal planning is required, it’s easy! Just make sure you’ve got audio and visual set up, a whiteboard the students can see, and access to Zoom.
Once booked, you’ll receive everything you need. We’ll also share a link to optional printed resources from Young Writers, which your students can write on during the session.
If you’d like to give your class a taster before the workshop, we recommend watching one of the short poetry videos on our Free Resources tab, a great way for students to get to know Mark before the live session.
